In this video I’m riding the electric foil board , this has a motor and allows me to ride through the water anywhere I please. The stance is similar to surfing, you have to balance yourself and bend your knees. To control the board you shift your weight back and forth to engage the foil and steer.

Board tour : have you ever seen a kite board up close? Now you have. Kite boards have two options for foot straps. This board has slip on foot straps. It makes it easier for getting in and out of the board when beginning. I use boots 🥾 which strap me in. That’s a more advanced foot strap system. Some kite boards also have handles which makes it much easier to carry! When you have boots on the board usually the handle is removed and you use the boot 🥾 to carry the board. An easy way to carry your surfboard is right on top of your head. My arms get tired from holding the board next to my side, especially if the board is wide and my arms can’t reach. Throw that board on your head !! 😎

Kiteboarding in Hood River, Oregon is one of my favorite places to kite. The wind funnels through the mountains 🏔 which can create some gusty wind conditions making it very hard to kiteboard. Gusty wind makes the kite harder to control. They say if you can kite in the Gorge you can kite anywhere !

Once you’re moving half speed you can stand up. Once standing you can cruise normal or shift your weight to the back foot to engage the foil to start planing.

I love riding long boards like this board pictured here. I call her black Betty. She’s a soft top nose rider. That means the top of the board is soft/foam. I ride soft tops because I have a cracked rib cage and it hurts to lay on hard boards. This board is made by catch surf which is an amazing brand for soft tops. I love this board ! Super easy to ride and I catch tons of waves. Let’s change the stigma around soft tops! 🌊💕

Make sure to stretch before you partake in any physical activities. Stretching is a super important part of my routine. I stretch every morning and sometimes before bed. When I get to the beach before I surf or kitesurf I make sure to stretch a little more. It helps your body function properly and prevents injury 🖤

The hydrofoil itself is a special fin with a mast that causes you to levitate out of the water when riding. It’s like riding a magic carpet, you literally float through the water. Small waves are the best way to learn how to surf. People think they need to charge big waves to have fun. Surfing smaller waves gives you more opportunities on the wave. The more you’re on the wave 🌊 the better you get. Get out there and ride!
