I know why you’re *REALLY* here. It’s the 34DDDDs for you, isn’t it? 😘 This work week at the salon was INSANE. In a good way. My book was pretty much full the whole week! I feel like that only happens for me like one week out of the month. No one really ever explains to you how *DIFFICULT* it is to gain steady clientele in the salon. I start massage school on the 5th of April! I dunno if I mentioned this before but I do massage now, under my esthetics license. I just have to call them “massage or body treatments” instead of “massage therapy”. But I enjoy doing them enough that I want to know the right way to do them. So I don’t injure myself & I do a great job for my clients. I almost have all of my massage school tuition paid off too!!! I only have about $1000 more to pay on the $10,000 bill!!! I’ve been working really hard all across the board lately to get this bill paid so once I start school, I don’t have to choose between super hard anatomy homework & dancing at the club on the weekends to make my payments. Any tips I receive on here right now is going directly to the massage school so please don’t hold back! 😉 And of course, if you’re local to me & want a hair cut, color, tape in extensions, henna brows, brow lamination, massage or you want your make up done, please book with me!!! I need your support in all aspects of my life! And hopefully soon I’ll be offering facials again at the spa. 🤞 I am gonna try to get my life together now so I can dance tonight at XS in Evansville, IN so hopefully I can pay off the rest of my massage school tuition by next week so I can relax just a little. Hey homies!!! I haven’t done a REAL blog post in awhile so I figure, why not today? Lemme tell you about my weekend!!! If you follow me on Twitter (link to all of my social media profiles is in my bio above), you know I had a movie shoot this weekend. Well unfortunately that was cut short. Which means less payment for me, unfortunately. Bummer. Lemme explain... But the reason it was cut short is kind of a secret we ain’t telling nobody. But you are in the “in group” so I can tell you. 😂 Assumably, while in Vegas, my best friend Leslie (who I do my podcast with) got the god damned rona. We ate off the same forks, slept in the same bed & shared food mouth to mouth (she took a bite off the chili dog & then me, to explain) all of last weekend in Vegas. So when she told me this I flipped the hell out. She told me in a text while I was at work at the salon. This is while I was working on someone’s hair. I was giving my client a keratin treatment which is a painstaking process that took me from 5pm to 10:30pm. But it came out great. Anyway, I didn’t know if I should tell this woman that someone I had spent the whole previous weekend with has now tested positive for covid or what. I figured though that we both had on masks through the whole service so we were probably safe. So I start freaking out & while running around in the salon turning out all the lights after the client left & I tripped, flipped & fell on a floor mat. Throwing my phone across the room & falling straight on my knee & wrist. My wrist is bruised up & swollen a little but the worst of it was my knee. I have a huge bump right under my knee right now that’s damn near as big as the knee itself. I called the director of the movie I was to shoot the next day & told him about my exposure to the virus. He didn’t really seem that concerned (since I have already had the rona myself) & thought I should still come out. I told him I wanted to run it by the other actors first. Which I did & they wanted me to get tested first. So all day Friday I just slept & waited on my test results. I got tested at 8am & got the results by noon. I’m pretty sure one of the actors wanted me to wait the 10 day CDC time period you’re supposed to wait to go back in public, but the director said a negative test was all he needed to film me. So I slept the rest of the day & headed out yesterday/Saturday, to film. The director broke up the filming so that we didn’t need to be in the same place at all. He filmed my on screen husband’s lines & then filmed mine looking the opposite way so he can switch back & forth during the editing process so it will look like we’re talking to one another in real time. I wonder how that will turn out... I hope good! 😅 Spoiler: I birthed a demon in the movie. I got pretty darn bloody for that. I think you’ll love it!!! It’s hilariously weird. I looooove working with Donald, the director. He always has the craziest ideas. I can’t wait for you to see this movie!!! After my scenes wrapped, the second camera man & Donald (director & first camera dude) left & I went down to another cabin down the way, to hang out with my on screen husband, Claude & his friend by their fire they built. Oh did I not mention where we filmed? We filmed in Cave City, Kentucky in a cabin park area called Camp Jelly Stone. It was AWESOME!!! One of my favorite things about acting in these indie movies is finding out about all these new-to-me locations. I will definitely go back there for a weekend to “camp” in a cabin with some friends. There’s also a place near there called “Dinosaur World” where we filmed. We didn’t go in but it looked dope. It’s like an open air outside attraction with huge painted dinosaur replicas. I will definitely go there when I go back! Back to my after film hangout... I got to hang out with Claude & his friend. We all had a couple beers out by the fire. He told me how he’s been acting for awhile & urged me to check out the local community theater. He has two friends in Evansville he urged me to talk to about joining. I told him I was definitely interested but scared of the time commitment since I already have like 50 jobs. 😂 I do think it would be beneficial to me to learn more about acting through theater though. & I already have a short theater background from highschool. Then I went back to the cabin & relaxed the rest of the night. I totally should have brought my ring light so I could make content, but I was so worn out from shooting all day so... Yeah. But next time I’m bringing my ring light just in case. On my way back home from Cave City, I was passing through Henderson & got a random urge to see if my older cousin would wanna do lunch. She did! I’m so glad I asked. I used to always hang out with her when I was a kid. She was my hero growing up. She brought her daughter & we all went to Applebee’s. I always feel like my family forgot about me. But I’ve realized recently that I too am guilty of not reaching out. If I just reach out, they might say no to hanging out but I won’t know unless I try. So from now on I’m going to make more of an effort to reconnect with my roots. Now I’m gearing up to get ready for a night dancing at the club. XS in Evansville, IN to be exact. I definitely need the money for massage school or you can betcha I’d be staying home, as my recent schedule & travels have both really worn me down. I’m glad I finally got shooting Bigfoot Exorcist out of the way. I’d been working diligently on my lines for the last several weeks with my friend John who is a trained actor. I joke that he’s my unpaid acting coach, but it’s true he’s helped immensely. I wouldn’t have been so confident & able to do do well on set without him. I’ll post stills & pics from the set of Bigfoot Exorcist as soon as the director forwards them to me!!!! You’ll love it!
